After a very successful event last year the organisers have taken on the task again but only bigger and more FUN.

Tug of War, Large Rural Craft Fair, Family Dog Show, Street Market, May Pole Dancing, Dog Agility, Braunston Reunion, Vintage Car Display, Homemade Refreshments, Hog Roast and Traditional Farmers Market.

Described as the birdwatcher’s “Glastonbury”, Birdfair encompasses the whole spectrum of the birdwatching industry whilst at the same time supporting global bird conservation. This is the event of the year if you’re into birds and wildlife. There are hundreds of stands selling the latest products for wildlife enthusiasts. You’ll find everything, from scopes to sculptures, binoculars to bird food, eGuides to eco-holidays!

Cutts Close, Oakham

The last Rutland Dog Show, organised by Rutland County Council and sponsored by Cory Environmental, took place on Sunday 21 September (10am - 4pm).

Lots of attractions for the whole family including the famous Pedigree Novelty Dog Show.

St Martin's Antique Centre: A large antiques centre offering space to antique dealers from which to sell their antiques.

Offering a range of antiques shared by 65 dealers. Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and later furniture - country pine. Art deco, arts and crafts. Furniture, porcelain, glass, copper, brass, clocks & watches, silver, jewellery, military books, pictures, prints, textiles, linen, fireplaces, surrounds & grates. 20th century lighting. Upholstered antique furniture and many other artifacts, collectables and ephemera.

This year is set to be a spectacular 10 day celebration of the arts, from Friday 13th June until Sunday 29th June. Oakham Festival and Uppingham Fringe are offering you a vast array of music,comedy,dance, poetry, visual art and theatre.
Whether you live in Rutland or beyond we urge you to come along and enjoy this county wide celebration of the arts. It is set to be a magical summer with something for all the family to enjoy. Events are hosted at many beautiful venues across the county, from Oakham Castle to the local pubs, Uppingham Theatre to the picturesque Market Place.

Oakham and Uppingham are a united force determined to put Rutland on the map as the host of one of our country’s great Festivals!

Oakham Festival is proud to continue their partnership with the Art Shop, our Box Office for
the 2008 event. Set in a prime position on Oakham High Street, the Art Shop is easily
accessible and is open on Saturdays. There is an additional Festival helpline number to
answer your queries when the box office is closed (01572 723393). The website will provide
the listings of the events and has an email facility for any enquiries and ticket orders.

Held at Stamford Meadow, Stamford in Lincolnshire, this free one-day festival is a chance to watch over thirty local acts perform live across three stages.

Back for its ninth edition, the event is coupled with a full-blown beer festival, which includes around 30 real ales and ciders at reasonable prices.

Organisers also put on alternative entertainment including children's activities, a funfair and craft stalls. There will also be a Busker Stage which gives festivals goers the chance to get up and play acoustically.
